RTE GAA man to launch Scurlogstown festival

GAA broadcaster Micheal " Muircheartaigh will officially launch the Scurlogstown Olympiad 2010 festival of music, dance and haymaking on Thursday 10th June at the new OPW offices in Trim. Recent 'Tops of the Town' joint winners, Phoenix from Dublin, will make their first appearance since their victory in St Patrick's College Theatre, at the Haymaking Festival. They will join Coscan (Meath), Cois Tine (Galway), Carney School of Irish Dancing, Four Courts Ceili Band (Ennistymon,Clare), the Wexford Mummers, the Dunderry Strawboys and the Naomh Padraig Ceili Band (three times winners of the All-Ireland Fleadh), Trim CCE, Black Porter and seannachai from Kerry and Armagh in a big entertainment programme lined up for the weekend of 18th-20th June. The training has stepped up for the Braveheart 5k Trail Run on Friday evening, 18th June, starting at the Yellow Steeple. The annual High Nellie Cycle will set off from Jack Quinn's pub at Scurlogstown on Friday 11th June at 7pm.
