Parkvilla unbeaten on the road again

This fixture has often posed problems for Parkvilla in the past but on this occasion the Navan side earned a valubale Leinster Senior League Div 1A point although they created enough chances to claim all three. Parkvilla easily contained the home side in an uneventful opening half limiting them to one chance which Sam Colgan had to be alert to save. The introduction of player / manager Alan Murphy changed the tempo of the game and a series of fine runs he made from right back had the hosts defending desperately at times. Dave O'Neill went close on a number of occasions for Parkvilla who took control of proceedings. With time running out Kevin Dunphy forced the Drumcondra goalkeeper into a fine one-handed save. Chris Kennedy's injury-time shot beat the Drumcondra goalkeeper only for another Parkvilla player to touch the ball while in an off-side position and the 'goal' was ruled out. The Navan side had first-rate displays from Robbie Dillon, Murphy, Jason McDonagh and Kennedy.
