Trim school choir to perform at Castle

The highly successful Scoil Mhuire Choir will join forces for the first time with the renowned Trim Castle Singers for a concert today (Wednesday) at 8pm in the Trim Castle Hotel. Scoil Mhuire"s Choir was formed a year ago and is directed by Jane Lynch who is also director of the Trim Castle Singers. The concert will start the festive season and promises to be a highly entertaining evening. The programme will range from Irving Berlin to Billy Joel and include jazz, Celtic music and seasonal favourites. Special guests for the night are the Dublin-based, award-winning Barber-shop group Four in a Bar. The Scoil Mhuire Choir are particularly looking forward to having male voices within their ranks for the first time. Four in a Bar were formed a little over a year ago and have already won the National Gold Medal at the IABS Barbershop Convention and the Sligo International Choral Festival Barbershop Competition. The group is comprised of tenor Vincent Lynch who hails from Trim, lead Simon MacHale from Cork, baritone Paul McGough from Mullingar and bass player Tristan Caldwell from Portmarnack.
