Mundy will headline Friday night at the Bulmers Berry Weekender at Ryans of Gormalough.

Mundy set to headline Berry Festival

Ryan's of Gormanlough, Stackallen is the venue for The Bulmers Berry Weekender Festival on Friday and Saturday next. The two night festival is presented on foot of last year's hugely successful Rock 'D' Lock festival which was headlined by Damien Dempsey. This year's event will take place over two days in the unique Coachhouse venue which is attached to the premises and which promises to deliver an intimate and not to be missed treat for all music lovers. The Weekender event is supported by Bulmers Berry and e2music. 'Galway Girl' singer Mundy, who is recognised as one of Ireland's finest songwriters/live performers will headline the boutique Weekend on Friday 27th August with his solo acoustic tour. Popular local acoustic band Frenzy will support Mundy and will open the two-night event. Described by Paul Brady as one of Ireland's 'most talented singer-songwriters' and with devotees like Paul Weller and Snow Patrol, Saturday's headlining musical artist Declan O'Rourke is fast emerging as one of Ireland's finest musical talents. Declan is praised for his heartfelt, intimate performances as well as his larger, energetic concerts. In 2006, Declan supported Snow Patrol on their European tour, where he played Wembley Stadium and the Odyssey Arena in Belfast among others. He will be supported on the night by three artists, Meath born Izzy Quinn, a promising up and coming musical talent from Mountnugent, followed by Dublin singer-songwriter, Fiach, who was recently described by Hot Press as a 'supreme performer' and who has recently released his debut album, 'So I'. Meath's own traditional and folk music group, Coscan, who are adept in performing on the world stage as well as in the intimate surroundings of the Coachhouse at Ryan's of Gormanlough will also perform on the closing night of the Weekender festival. Limited tickets for both of the Weekender events are available from E2 Music, Navan, (046) 902 3254; E2 Music Mullingar (044) 939 0009 and Ryan's of Gormanlough, Stackallen, Slane, (046) 902 4021 and are priced at €20 per night.
