Trim Leisure Centre features on Lottery’s 'Winning Streak’
Last Saturday night’s Dream Maker segment of the National Lottery’s 'Winning Streak’ programme was broadcast from Trim Leisure Centre, while Meath was also represented in the studio game show when Carol Reilly from Mulhussey, Kilcock, scooped €22,900. Carol purchased her winning ticket from John Gillan, Gillan’s, Summerhill, and would is hoping to visit New York or go on a cruise with her winnings. Carol and her husband Sean have been married for 26 years and have one son, Shane, who was watching the show with his girlfriend, Niamh, at Carol’s parents’ house when her name was called out. Carol’s parents, Lima and Billy, were among the supporters who accompanied Carol to the show. On Saturday night, the Dream Maker segment of the Winning Streak programme was broadcast from Trim Leisure Centre where Catherine Shaw from Mullingar spun the wheel to win €10,000. Catherine was cheered along by sports and leisure users at the Aura Leisure-run centre on the day. The facilities at the centre were featured on the programme, including the gym, bowling green and all weather pitches. Aonghus Shortt, a young soccer player, told Winning Streak viewers what it means to be able to play on all-weather pitches adjacent to the centre. The centre has a large multi-purpose sports hall, aerobics studio, full health suite and two all- weather playing pitches and a lawn bowling pitch which was opened last year. The centre received €3 million in National Lottery support.
