Declan Nerney in Kells this Sunday

Declan Nerney, one of Ireland"s top country music entertainers, is coming to Kells this Sunday night. The Headfort Arms Hotel will play host to Nerney, who recently released his latest single, "The Little Spot". The Longford man is heavily influenced by the showband greats, including Joe Dolan, Big Tom, Philomena Begley and The Capital Showband, all of whom he saw perform live his native village of Drumlish. He has been playing on the dance circuit for the past 20 years, having started at an early age in local band the "The Hi-Los" and his big break came with his autobiographical song, "The Marquee in Drumlish". He has a huge following and has had regular chart hits not only in Ireland but in Scotland and England and his recordings are sought worldwide. As well as the Hi-Los, he also played with the Gene Stuart Band and Brian Coll and the Buckaroos in the past. Sunday night"s show in Kells starts with a DJ at 9pm with Declan Nerney due on stage at 10.30pm. Admission is €15 at the door or tickets are available from hotel reception.
