Top movie stuntman for country sports fair

Top UK movie stuntman Justin Pearson will be performing at the all-new Irish National Country Fair during the weekend of 18th and 19th July with his spectacular Knights of The Damned jousting show. He will be leading a nine-strong team - four mounted knights, including female specialist trick rider Hannah Hill, with four squires and a commentator - in their first ever Irish performance at the fair to be held in the grounds of Ballinlough Castle, Clonmellon, next weekend. 'This is our first visit to Ireland this year and we are very honoured to be performing with the backdrop of such a historic and fitting site,' said Justin (35). 'The Knights of the Damned is an action-packed medieval jousting team with terrific colour, fanfares and ends with the dramatic thundering of hooves as the knights attempt to unhorse each other in the joust. The audience can watch us hone our skills by striking the man-shaped target, the quintain, and attempt to spear peasants" heads off the ground at speed.' Joint event organiser Bill Beckett added: 'It"s a great show and one that I personally travelled over to England to check out before booking. The local audience will not be disappointed. It"s the best I"ve seen in the UK.' The show also boasts superbly choreographed foot fights with crashing swords, flaming fireballs on chains and unyielding quarterstaffs as well as the knights romantically accepting favours from the ladies in the audience and fighting for their honour. Last year Justin Pearson was filming for a new 'Robinson Crusoe" movie, starring actors Sean Bean and Sam Neil,l and was the stunt double for lead actor Philip Winchester in this new 'Robinson Crusoe" remake. His recent movie credits include 'The Da Vinci Code", 'The Golden Compass", 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" and '28 Weeks Later". The Knights of the Damned performed at Hampton Court Palace for three days last August and will be performing twice daily in the main arena at Ballinlough Castle on Saturday and Sunday, 18th and 19th July. Admission is €15 for adults and €5 for children over five.
