Trim pupils put on spectacular pageant

Up to 150 pupils of St Mary's Primary school, Trim, performed their annual Christmas pageant in St Patrick's Church, Trim, last Wednesday. The pageant, entitled 'A Christmas Journey', was performed by the girls from the 'old school' and was a credit to all involved. Costumes, singing, readings and props were all of the highest standard and all the girls rose to the occasion. The pageant was dedicated to Fr Andrew Farrell, retired parish priest of Trim, and presentations were made to him on behalf of the pupils, staff, parents' association and board of management of St Mary's. The event was a special occasion also because the old school building on Patrick Street will be returned to the Sisters of Mercy at the end of the current school year when St Mary's new extension will be completed. A collection for St Vincent de Paul was taken on the night and a considerable ammount of money was raised.
