Wolfe Tones returned to winning ways in A FL Div 1 with an impressive victory over Blackhall Gaels at Kilberry on Sunday. Blackhall started well with an early brace of points, but once Wolfe Tones settled they took control of the game with points from Alan Fox (two), David Coleman and Niall McLoughlin and a superb Mark Coleman goal. Sean Whelan responded for Blackhall with a penalty goal to close the gap to 1-4 to 1-7 at the break. However, after the resumption Wolfe Tones dominated with Joey McKeown netting. Dunderry struggled in the opening half and had it not been for a magnificent save from David Jennings from Trevor Giles they would have been more than the 0-2 to 0-6 behind at the break. After the resumption Felim O"Rourke made sure of the points with a goal. Dunderry battled hard and were rewarded with late points from Kevin Dowd and Aaron Newman to add some gloss to their performance. Moynalvey were pinned back in the first-half and despite points from Stephen Donoghue, Cathal Sheridan and Daniel Treacy they conceded two goals and trailed by 0-6 to 2-5 at the break. After the resumption Na Fianna stretched their advantage to seven points, but Moynalvey rattled off scores from Ciaran Ennis, David Durkan, Donoghue and Willie Byrne to restore parity and struck again with scores from Donoghue, Byrne and Brian Gilsenan to seal the win.
