Kells Celtic earn a valuable point

Kells Celtic travelled to Drogheda and came away with a draw from this Meath & District League Div 2 encounter on Sunday. The game was played in terrible underfoot conditions but Kells Celtic went ahead when Mark Butler tapped in from close range following a free from Ronan McManus. Castle Villa 3 Boyne Athletic 0 Castle Villa picked up a valuable win in their attempt to pull away from the lower regions of the MDL Div 4 when they fired three past Boyne Athletic on Sunday. There"s still a long way to go before they get near the silverware, but they at least ensured their place in the next round with this resounding victory over Agher Park. Further strikes from Peadar Farrelly, Jamie Tolan and Darren McKeever ensured there would only be one outcome from this lop-sided contest. Victory for the visitors was already assured at the interval when they led 5-0. They face a much tougher test in the next round when they take on Square.
