The build-up to local couple Sinead Norman and Paul Duffy’s big day will feature on tonight' episode of 'A Week To My Wedding’ which airs on RTE 1 at 8.30pm.
Sinead (28) from Bective and Paul (30) from Boyerstown were married in Boyerstown Church on 21st August and held their reception in a marquee on the grounds of Sinead’s family home at Bective Mill.
The couple met 10 years ago when they both worked in shops in Navan Shopping Centre. Sinead worked in Harten’s Newsagents at the time, while Paul was working in H2 Clothing, when Sinead caught his eye.
Sinead is now a snail farmer while Paul works in Google but also DJs at weekends. The couple have an 11-month old son called Ollie.
From his work as a DJ around various venues and hotels, Paul knew that he did not want a typical hotel wedding. He was “sick” of the big square rooms in hotels and the couple knew they wanted something different that they could put their own stamp on, so they decided on a marquee wedding with a country chic DIY style at Sinead’s family home.
Complete with a marquee, a karaoke campervan that needs decoration, wildflowers that are less than co-operative in blooming and hundreds of personal and creative touches, it was a wedding reception that didn’t simply guarantee a day to remember but was also a hectic week that will be hard to forget.
There was a huge amount of work to be done in the run-up to the wedding but Paul said they had plenty of help from their families; Paul’s father, Noel, is a carpenter which was a great help.
The couple had a wonderful day with their 170 guests and were delighted with how everything went.
“Everything went great. We were blessed with the weather. It was sunny all day and only rained for five or 10 minutes while we were having our meal,” said Paul
Paul and Sinead haven’t yet seen the programme and are planning a get-together with friends and family at The Central in Navan for the big reveal tonight.
