Declan O'Rourke plays The Palace on 27th December.

Intimate Palace gig from Declan O’Rourke

Declan O'Rourke plays an intimate acoustic date at The Palace, Navan, later this month. This show will be the highlight of the Palace's Christmas entertainment calendar in Navan, as O'Rourke brings his three piece band to The Palace for a pre-club performance on Monday 27th December. Support on the night comes from Fiach. Declan O'Rourke has been called the Irish Leonard Cohen, and has won the praise of Chris Rea, Paul Weller, Paul Brady and Snow Patrol. He has been busy over the past three years since the release of his second record 'Big, Bad, Beautiful World'.   While he never stopped touring Ireland, O'Rourke has been dipping his toes in foreign waters with tours of Australia, parts of the UK, Germany, Italy and more recently the US.  His songs have been performed and recorded by Eddi Reader, Jacqui Dankworth, Brian Kennedy, Peter Joback and Maura O'Connell.   In Ireland, O'Rourke has heaped up multi-platinum sales, Meteor nominations, and a string of sell-out performances.  He has toured with Paulo Nuttini, Snow Patrol and last-December Peter Joback with whom he performed for the King and Queen of Sweden.  O'Rourke devoted much of the past 18 months to writing, which has borne the fruit of his highly-anticipated third album, due for release in early-2011. Doors are 8pm with the gig at 8.30pm sharp, with tickets €15 available from Music Box, Navan.
