Lynch on the mark again at Navan

Ashbourne jockey Andrew Lynch is enjoying a good run of form at Navan racecourse and was back in the winners" enclosure at Proudstown on Saturday. His last winner at the track was Notre Pere in the Troytown Chase and he followed up on that success by guiding the Jim Dreaper-trained gelding to victory in the Welsh National at Chepstow at the end of December. Saturday"s victory was a more moderate success when he guided Telenor (9/2) to victory in a maiden hurdle. Dreaper"s gelding was a good second at Down Royal after Christmas and before that had finished sixth at Navan behind Noel Meade"s well-regarded Pandorama. The duo went one better at Navan at the weekend with a two-length success over Ten Fires. Lynch also rides for local trainer Liam McAteer as well as Michael O"Brien and Arthur Moore Following his brief stint on the sidelines, Paul Carberry returned to action at Leopardstown on Sunday where he partnered Chateau D"eau to victory for trainer Noel Meade who had engaged Barry Geraghty to ride Muirhead in the Irish Champion Hurdle. The Drumree jockey was narrowly beatn by Brave Inca, but was back in the winners" enclosure with the Jessica Harrington-trained Roberto Goldback (16/1) which stayed on well to take the best of all in the conditions to win the grade two novice hurdle. The seven-year-old was having only his second run over hurdles. Geraghty also deputised for Carberry at Fairyhouse on Friday and landed a good win for Meade with Across The Bay in a maiden hurdle.
