Meath supporters travel from all parts for games

 Meath supporters travelled from many areas of the country last Saturday for the Leinster SFC quarter-final against Wicklow at Aughrim and for two young Royals it was all about catching some sleep on the way home. 

Cathal Reilly, formerly of Kells Road, Navan is now living in the Gaeltacht in An Rinn, near Dungarvan Co. Waterford and attended the game in Aughrim with another Navan native, Mark Rowe who now lives in Dungarvan.

The men made the trip to Aughrim with their sons for the big game, but it was close to midnight when they got back to Waterford with the two boys, four-year-old Oisin Reilly (left) and five-year-old Dónal Rowe who were both singing songs about the Royals as they cheered and cheered a great victory.

'I moved down here seven years ago, having formerly worked for Meath County Council' commented Cathal Reilly.

'Two years ago, another Navan man, a friend from my childhood, Mark Rowe, moved with his family to Dungarvan, a couple of miles away and we now go to all the Meath matches we can, and both our eldest sons are always with us suitably attired in green and gold.

'The photo was taken at midnight last Saturday when we arrived home to West Waterford after a long trip back from Aughrim.,' he added.

Oisín Reilly is the son of Cathal Reilly and Olivia McAuliffe, eldest grandson of John and Anita Reilly, Kells Road, Navan.

Dónal Rowe is the son of Mark Rowe and Aileen Dooley, grandson of Sylvester and the late Betty Rowe of Blackwater Park, Kells Road.

The next assignment will be a trip to Croke Park for the Leinster SFC semi-final.
