Neven Maguire comes to fundraiser at Knightsbrook

Award-winning chef Neven Maguire will host his renowned cookery demonstration in the Knightsbrook Hotel and Golf Resort, Trim at 8pm on Tuesday, November 11th, to raise funds for Fr George Munyaka and his Kenyan Mission. The fundraiser is being organised by St Camillus Prayer Group in Trim and monies raised will be used to fund transport for the mission"s work in Kenya. Neven began cooking at the age of 12 alongside his mum, Vera, in the family restaurant in Blacklion, Co Cavan and has over 17 years cooking experience, including working in many of Europe"s top Michelin-starred restaurants. Having taken over the family business in 2003, Neven"s MacNean House and Restaurant recently won the coveted Food & Wine Magazine"s Restaurant of the Year award. The restaurant has also been awarded the Hotel and Catering Review"s Gold Medal Award for Fine Dining. Neven is delighted to be presenting his cookery demonstration to raise funds for the Missions in Kenya. 'I have been giving cookery demonstrations throughout Ireland for many years and I really enjoy it. It"s a great opportunity to teach simple and practical recipes that can be recreated at home and to hear the feedback of participants. I am really looking forward to bringing this next demonstration to Trim,' said Neven. Neven has recently finished filming his new TV series 'Neven"s food from the sun", which will be shown on RTÉ in early 2009. The accompanying cookbook, Neven"s fifth, is in bookstores now. Autographed copies of Neven"s new cookbook, 'Neven"s food from the sun" will be available on the night.
