Kells councillor gets in touch with his feminine side at charity event

Kells Town Council cathaoirleach, Brian Curran, showed off his glamorous side recently at the Mrs Quin Charity Fashion Show in the local Headfort Arms Hotel. The many elegant and well-dressed local ladies who turned up for the event were put in the shade as Cllr Curran strutted his stuff dressed as 'Sex And The City' character Carrie Bradshaw. Three other brave local men, Martin Murphy, Pascal Dardis and Robert English, also dressed up as the three other 'Sex And The City' characters, Charlotte, Miranda and Samantha. A huge crowd attended the fashion show which was held to mark the first anniversary of the Mrs Quin Shop in Kells. Mrs Quin charity shops raise funds for the National Council for the Blind. The attendees heard that the Kells shop was one of the most successful ever and had done very well over the past year. Barry Magee of the National Council for the Blind thanked the manageress, Karen Mooney, and the local volunteers for their work over the past year. Cllr Curran spoke of the excellent work of the charity. He recalled that he had opened the shop last year and was delighted to be present at the first anniversary celebrations. There were many colourful outfits on display in the show and some 40 local models, ranging in age from the very young to senior citizens, took part in the fashion show.
