Navan musician impresses in 'The Voice'
Three judges vied over Navan singer, Pauric McLoughlin, when he took part in the blind auditions of ‘The Voice of Ireland’ competition, which were screened last night on RTE One.
The Beechdale Drive resident impressed the judges with Dolores O’Riordan, Kian Egan and Jamelia all turning when the singer took to the stage and gave a beautiful rendition of Calvin Harris’s ‘Feels So Close.’
Pauric got a great response and was complimented on his unique voice by Dolores.
After some deliberation he chose Dolores as his mentor and now goes forward to the ‘Battle’ rounds of the competition.
Padraig, who is 26 has really only got serious about his music in the past 18 months or so.
He went travelling in Australia in 2011 and brough his guitar with him and really enjoyed a few sinsongs.
RTÉ’s The Voice of Ireland has got off to a great start with the coaches picking some great acts for their teams. Already Cranberries singer Dolores O’Riordan has proved popular with the contestants, winning them over with her straight talk and words of encouragement.
Through the next four weeks, each coach will pick their perfect ten acts in the blind auditions and pit them against each other in the Battle stages. They must then make the decision which of the two they will take through to the live shows.
Last series’ winner Keith Hanley has just finished recording his album which will be released this year.
