Funeral arrangements for cian
Funeral arrangements have been made for four-year-old Carlanstown boy Cian McDonnell-Lynch who passed away yesterday evening.
Cian’s remains will be reposing at his home at Village Green, Carlanstown, from 2pm until 8pm on Thursday 8th October with removal on Friday morning 9th October arriving at St Colmcille’s Church, Kells for 12 noon Mass of the Angels. Burial will take place afterwards at Staholmog Cemetery. Please note the house is private on Friday morning.
Cian is survived by his father Donal, mother Lisa, sister Chloe, grandparents, great-grandmother, aunts, uncles, in-laws, cousins, relatives and many friends.
Cian suffered from a very severe form of Dyskeratosis Congenita which affects one in a million and his family was awaiting news from Boston Children’s Hospital on whether they would accept him for a double lung transplant operation, when he sadly passed away.
A massive fundraising drive raised almost €500,000 towards the $1m cost of the operation as people far and wide lent their support to the campaign for the brave little boy who won the hearts of all with his beautiful smile.
