The Corsac Fox cubs at Tayto Park

Eurasian Lynx kittens and Corsac fox cubs arrive at Tayto Park

Tayto Park in Ashbourne has welcomed the arrival of not one but two new sets of newborns -  three Eurasian Lynx kittens, born mid-May and seven Corsac Fox cubs are happily getting used to their new home which also houses a large variety of rare and endangered species. Meerkat pups are due to be born soon and will be adding to the large Meerkat family, one of the most popular animal attractions at Tayto Park, who are now housed in a new glass enclosure.
The Corsc Foxes (native throughout central Asia) arrived to Tayto Park in 2011 and this is the first time they have been bred since their arrival. With the addition of seven cubs, the Corsac Fox troop now numbers 10.
The Eurasian Lynx parents (native Western Europe and throughout central Asia) came to their new home in Tayto Park last summer and three kittens were born to this breeding pair on the 13th May. According to Head Keeper at Tayto Park, Lee Donoghue, the first time mum is doing a great job and settling in well to her new role. These are the only Eurasian Lynx in Ireland.
Ray Coyle, founder of Tayto Park said: 'We are thrilled to welcome our newest additions to Tayto Park. We pride ourselves in our ongoing conservation efforts and these new arrivals are a testament to the efforts of head keeper Lee Donoghue and his team. Everyone who comes to Tayto Park this summer will have even more to see and do as we have added new attractions to the park”.

Tayto Park is set on 55 acres and has a variety of attractions from the largest 4-line zipline in Europe to a wide selection of animals. Tayto Park also hosts a variety of restaurants, shops and playgrounds to suit children of all ages.
