Important victory for Trim Celtic

Trim Celtic came away with all three points from this Meath & District Premier League encounter on Sunday and remain hard on the heels of leaders Rock and Carrick. The Trim side were by far the better outfit and opened up the Ardee defence early on when a Mark McCormack corner was met by Richie Fitzsimons who headed home. Keith Peppard and Derek Donohoe went close before Mick Corrigan and Pat Conway were involved in setting up Donohue who slotted home to give Trim a 2-0 interval lead. Ardee got a goal back, but Trim Celtic held on with Paul Campbell, Donohue and Conway going close to adding a third for the visitors. Best for the Trim side were Corrigan, Fitzsimons and Donohue.
