It's strictly tuxedos and ballgowns at Simonstown Gaels' dance-off

It's time to dust down the tuxedos and ballgowns and roll out the red carpet for Saturday 5th November as Simonstown Gaels GFC presents 'Strictly Come Dancing'. Given the popularity of the television show, it is likely that the Simonstown's version could cause quite a stir. The club has selected well-known local faces and personalities and hopes that this will attract dance fans and friends from every corner of Meath to join in the craic. Competitors are reportedly putting in considerable practice to fine tune their foxtrots and revolutionise their rumbas under the tutelage of professional dance choreographers. While those with the fanciest footwork will undoubtedly prove crowd-pleasers, an Ann Widdecombe or a John Sergeant would prove a lively addition too. Some of the well-known personalities taking part include Colm O'Rourke, Seamus Kenny, Shane O'Neill, Evan Kelly, Colm Keys, Wayne McCarthy, Mark McGuinness, Eugene Caffney, Mark Keenan, Jim McCabe, Sean Tobin, Lisa McAteer, Paula Carr, Leona Murtagh, Joan Brennan, Bernardette Nash, Monica Gallagher, Sandra Gardiner, Mary Moran, Carmel McEvoy, Bridin Dunne and Mary Tobin, Graham Cooke and Melissa Heaney. The effort put into the production of the show by all of the dancers ensure that this Strictly Come Dancing event should be an entertaining spectacle. The contestants and the club would greatly appreciate support on 5th November. Tickets are priced at €15 and are available from the clubhouse on (046) 902 2494 or any of the competitors.
