Burke back in action as Longwood win

Just two days after turning out for Meath in the Leinster SFC final Mickey Burke helped Longwood to a rousing 2-14 to 1-11 victory over Boardsmill in the SHC at Trim this evening.

This time the tireless Burke was on the winning side as Longwood built on a 1-8 to 1-4 interval advantage to secure victory that goes a long way to securing a place in the knock-out phase.

Nick Weir's hard-working side were pushed all the way by Boardsmill but in the end goals from Rory Maguire and Anthony Healy helped the 'Wood across the line.

Boardsmill had a good third quarter with their cause greatly helped by a goal from Fergal Flattery however they were unable to overtake their opponents.
