Meath beaten by Dublin

Meath were edged out of the Leinster u-21 FC following a disappointing display against Dublin at Parnell Park today. Meath trailed by 0-3 to 0-5 at half-time in this Leinster u-21 FC quarter-final during which took the Royal County 20 minutes to score. Brian Sheridan split the posts and that was followed by a good point from Shane O'Rourke before Sheridan completed the Meath tally close to the interval. It took a couple of smart saves from Patrick O'Rourke to deny Dublin a goal or two. Sheridan resumed with a point and Alan Nestor's penalty goal gave Meath the platform for victory, but they required another goal in the closing stages to restore parity. Sheridan found the net to tie the scores at 2-4 to 0-10, but Dublin countered and held on for victory with late points.
