PJ Gallagher is to host the 'Help Kayley Walk' comedy night in Navan.

Line-up of top comedians to help Kayley

Comedian Finbarr Coveney is to walk from Tramore to Navan in aid of the Help Kayley Walk Fund. His ultimate destination is the Ardboyne Hotel on Thursday of next week, 1st July, where a comedy show in aid of the fund takes place, organised by local comedian Harry McGarry with help from Paul Tylak. Kayley Dunne, a six year-old girl from Navan, was diagnosed at 18 months with periventricular leucomalcia which means the damage to the deep white matter of the brain is the cause of cerebral palsy. This has meant that Kayley is unable walk without assistance and uses a walker to get around. The money raised in the walk and comedy night is to go towards a fund that will help send Kayley to America, where she can receive an operation that would drastically improve her quality of life. The estimated cost of the operation, which can only be carried out in America, is €50,000. The organisation is hoping to raise this by October.The comedy night takes place in the Ardboyne Hotel, who have given the main banquet room free of charge for the event. The line up includes Tiny James of PJ Gallagher's 'Just Jokes'; Graham Storey of Lough in Ball Comedy Club; Finbarr Coveney of Alfie's Comedy Lounge, Tramore; Harry McGarry, Kilkenny Cat Laughs Fringe Festival; Willie White of Des Bishop's 'Joy in the Hood'; Kevin Gildea and Paul Tylak (Father Ted); Patrick McDonnell of RTE'S Naked Camera, and Eoin McLove of 'Fr Ted'. The MC for the night will be Karl Spain and PJ Gallagher will headline. Doors open at 8pm on 1st July with the show starting at 9pm sharp. Tickets are available from E2 music and the Ardboyne Hotel, at €15 or at the door at €20.
