Blathnaid is back!

Rath Cairn's Blathnaid Ni Chofaigh will be making a return to television screens at the weekend when she oversees the east auditions in the 'All Ireland Talent Show'. Head judge Blathnaid Ni Chofaigh scoured the east of the country for the best in talent, in the hopes of wrestling the title of All Ireland Talent title from the hands of reigning champions Daithi O Se and The West. Assisting her were two local boys, Fair City's Pat Nolan and 2FM's Cormac Battle. The Meath woman returns to broadcasting following a period of ill-health and a departure from 'The Afternoon Show' which created controversy in the national media. A huge turnout shows up at the auditions hoping to impress Blathnaid, including one of the show's oldest auditionees, who sees this as his last chance to achieve his long held dream. A familiar face turns up and leaves Blathnaid red faced for the second year in a row and one act moves her to tears. And a six-year-old die hard rock fan leaves Blathnaid and her advisors speechless as he attempts to secure a place in her final eight. Presented by Gráinne Seoige the programme features a panel of five judges - Boyzone star and Dublin-born Shane Lynch (Dublin), Ni Chofaigh (East), Galway resident and weatherman Daithi " Se (West), Eurovision-winning ex-MEP and Derry-native, Dana (North), and Cork's own hugely popular RTÉ Radio broadcaster and Fáilte Towers winner, John Creedon (The South). It goes out at 6.30pm on Sunday.
