Parish in shock after death of young GAA footballer

The shocked communities of Drumconrath and Meath Hill are this morning (Wednesday) preparing to say a sad farewell to popular young local man, Niall Tully (20), who was killed in a motorcycle accident just a few hundred yards from his home at the weekend. Mr Tully was one of the stars of the Meath Hill GAA Club and played corner back on the club's first team. He had been about to make his way to watch the club's second team play Longwood in the Junior D final in Navan's Pairc Tailteann on Saturday evening when the tragedy occurred. Such was the shock among his club-mates as news filtered through to Pairc Tailteann of his death that the final was abandoned at half-time. To read the full story see this week's Meath Chronicle.
