Connell launching solo career

FOLLOWING a live UK and German tour with Mary Duff, Nigel Connell returns to his home town of Athboy, to launch his very own solo career. Thursday next, 10th July will see Connell take to the stage at The Old Darnley Lodge Hotel accompanied by a 14 piece live orchestra to unveil his new collection of original songs along with some of his all time contemporary favouri tes. Tickets priced €20 are on sale now from the reception of The Old Darnley Lodge Hotel, and guests include Liam Lawton. The concert coincides with the launch of his first ever charity single 'Keela Mae" in aid of The Jack & Jill Children"s Foundation. Connell comes from a very musical family and started his career at 15 years of age drumming with The Cotton Mill Boys. He later toured professionally with such singers as Matt Leavy, Marc Roberts, Rebecca Storm and Linda Martin. Since putting his drumsticks to one side his singing career has taken flight featuring as a guest artist on Liam Lawton"s most recent platinum selling album 'Time" where he recorded a duet. His success has continued over the last 18 months touring worldwide in Australia, New Zealand, Africa and Sweden and alongside Liam Lawton to sell out crowds at the Carnegie Hall, New York and St Patrick"s Cathedral in Chicago.
