Stephen Ball (Independent)

Bohermeen community activist Stephen Ball is standing as an independent candidate in Meath West. He says he has endured for far too long, like many others, the "continuous desecration of our state by the greedy nature of elected leaders". He says he will never attempt to emulate the poster beauty pageant on the public highways, as this is what politics became in recent elections. He may never get to shake a hand or publish glossy brochures, but says it is vital the people of the community to be represented by independents who show no allegiance to banner or party leader, and vote with conscience of heart. Mr Ball says that the young, the old and the sick will pay the heavy price for "greedy bankers and their accomplices" for many a long year, the country is depressed and recession is now the menu on everyone's dinner table. "We have many great challenges within the county and country, like keeping Navan Hospital open and preserving the beauty and safety of the Meath region by placing the EirGrid power lines underground. There are many children and adults within our community who have disabilities and struggle to attain services or even information," he adds.
