Heavenly display by Notre Pere

Ashbourne jockey Andrew Lynch enjoyed a big race victory in the Welsh National at Chepstow today. Lynch guided Notre Pere to victory for trainer Jim Dreaper which, in the process, became the the first Irish-trained winner of the race. Returend at 16/1, Notre Pere was always well placed and survived a mistake at the third last to take the valuable handicap ahead of Cornish Sett, Halcon Genelardais with Officier De Reserve in fourth. Notre Pere could be a Gold Cup candidate for Cheltenham next March.
