Oasis a sell-out

Tickets for next June"s Oasis concert at Slane Castle sold out within hours of going on sale on Friday morning. Oasis fans in Navan began queueing for tickets at around midnight on Thursday and, despite the quick sell-out, those who had queued overnight in Navan all managed to obtain tickets. Up to 150 people were waiting outside The Music Box at Trimgate Street when tickets went on sale at 8am. Music box spokesman, Niall Matthews, said it had been a miserable night but fans were in good humour and all those who had queued had got tickets. Slane Castle owner, Lord Henry Mountcharles, said he was delighted that next year"s concert is a sell-out. 'It is always nice to have your judgement vindicated. I had great confidence that Oasis would be a sell-out, but the proof of the pudding is in the eating,' he said. 'By 9am, we knew it was heading that way and the first 50,000 tickets sold out rapidly,' he added. Last week, it was also announced that The Prodigy would be special guests at the Oasis show in Slane on 20th June. Formed in 1990, The Prodigy have gone on to become the most successful dance acts of all time in terms of chart success and critical acclaim. They first came on the scene in the early 1990s and quickly achieved massive chart success with the release of their debut album,'Experience", in 1992, followed up with the critically acclaimed 'Music For The Jilted Generation" in 1994. Their 1997 album 'The Fat Of The Land" and 2004"s 'Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned" were also massive hits and the band"s new album is due for release in March.
