Mark Cadden setting a trend

Dual players are more usually associated with the GAA for football and hurling, but Oldcastle youngster Mark Cadden could be setting a new trend in terms.

Golf and Pitch & Putt are his areas of expertise and fresh from his recent golfing exploits winning the prestigious Gary Player trophy last month, Mark was busy on the Pitch & Putt front last weekend.

A member of Headfort Golf Club and Oldcastle Pitch & Putt club Mark added to his list of successes last week when he captured the U-13 National Strokeplay Pitch & Putt Championship at Athgarvan.

This was also following his success at the Meath u-15 Pitch & Putt Strokeplay Championship at Navan.

Next up for the young maestro is a busy golfing weekend in October.

Mark will compete in the Flogas Irish Junior Open Autumn Tour on Tuesday 27th October at Moyvalley Hotel & Golf resort.

Two days later, starting on Thursday 29th October, he will be in action at the All Ireland Trophy event that will take place on 29th and 30th October at Carton House.

Day one action will be on the O’Meara course and day two on the Montgomery course.
