Second title for Colin Keane
Horse Racing Ireland confirmed this morning that Trim jockey Colin Keane has won the 2020 flat title.
"Keane captured the jockeys’ championship for the second time when he rode a winner at Naas on Sunday," stated HRI.
"The season finishes at the same venue this coming Sunday but both Keane and title rival Shane Foley will be absent for much of the week as they prepare for the Breeders’ Cup.
"Keane’s success on the Noel Meade-trained Persian Queen in the final race of the day gave him a seven-winner lead over the Kilkenny man and with not enough races left before the pair fly to America, the title went to the Trim star," concluded the HRI statement.
Keane needs one more victory today at the Curragh to reach 100 winners for the season.
