'Soul-awakening" trad music for Solstice

Solstice Arts Centre presents an evening with traditional music singer Fiona Kelleher and The Sullane Sessions on Thursday 22nd January. This soul-awakening trad concert is part of a nationwide tour of Cork musicians Fiona Kelleher (vocal), Jim Murray (guitar), Richard Lucey (accordion) and Ciaran Coughlan (piano), featuring exciting new arrangements of traditional songs from Kelleher"s debut album, 'My Love Lies" and also fresh energetic arrangements of well known tunes. All musicians are highly regarded performers and have toured extensively and collaborated with various other groups such as North Cregg, Altan and Sharon Shannon. The dynamic combination of Coughlan"s jazz influenced piano playing and Murray"s sublime guitar playing with Lucey"s mastery of the accordion give an exciting and inventive new interpretation of traditional tunes while these supreme musicians provide the perfect backdrop to Kelleher"s pure crystal like vocals. Tickets are €15 and €12 concession and are available from Solstice Arts Centre Box Office on (046) 909 2300 or online at www.solsticeartscentre.ie.
