Meath teams get ready to resume action
It's a case of all hands back on deck as far as Meath minor footballers and hurlers are concerned as they get ready to resume action in their respective championships.
The GAA were given the green light by the Government last night to re-start the championships after they were halted at the start of the second national lockdown in October.
The senior championships were allowed to go ahead but the minor and u-20 games were halted - until now.
Meath had defeated Dublin in their opening round game in the Leinster MFC in October and were due to take on Westmeath in the quarter-finals. Now that game is due to played on Saturday 12th December and Meath will be hoping they can continue their winning ways.
In this week's Meath Chronicle the Meath minor manager John McCarthy hit out at the lack of communications from Croke Park in recent weeks concerning the Leinster MFC saying the lack of certainty and direction only helped to increase rather than alleviate stress levels for young players.
The Royal County hurlers can also start preparing for a return to action as the following day they are due to take on Wicklow in the Peadar O Liathain Cup (MHC B).
The All-Ireland u-20 FC final between Galway and Dublin has been reported as a potential curtain raiser to the senior decider at Croke Park on December 19.
