Friday 23rd April for Ratoath RFC car draw
Ratoath RFC officials are busy promoting the club's fundraising car draw now that a new date for the initiative has been finalised.
The draw will now take place on Friday 23rd April and all funds generated will go to support development of a new clubhouse.
The subscription for membership is €50 and the draw is limited to 1,000 patrons.
The first prize is a VW Golf or the option of €20,000 as a cash alternative.
Due to the current Covid-19 crisis, the car draw was postponed from the original 2020 date and it will now take place on Friday 23rd April.
"We are a small, but growing village rugby club with 10 teams from under-age through to adult with very basic, temporary facilities which need to be upgraded," commented a club fficial.
"We are fundraising and the objective is to help retire our sub-standard old portacabins and to provide permanent dressing rooms and other facilities as well as a large social space for our young players and referees," the club official added.
The club has major development plans in place for this year with that new clubhouse a priority and also a new pitch.
Ratoath RFC was established in 2005 and affiliated to the Leinster Branch of the Irish Rugby Football Union that year.
It marked the first tentative steps of a new organisation with lots of ambition that has continued over the years with the next objective on the horizon in 2021.
