Action from the 2020 Joe McDonagh Cup between Meath and Kerry in Tralee

Meath will open their Joe McDonagh Cup campaign away to Down on the first weekend of July and will then face Kerry in Navan the following week in a three-team group.

The draws for the Joe McDonagh Cup, Christy Ring Cup, Nickey Rackard Cup, and Lory Meagher Cup have been finalised.

Meath will play in the Tier 2HC Joe McDonagh Cup and will go into the competition still looking for a first win in the championship.

JOE MCDONAGH CUP

Two groups of three based on an open draw.

Each team has one home and one away game with the top team in each group playing in the final and the winner promoted to the Leinster Hurling Championship for 2022.

The bottom team in each group shall play off and the loser shall be relegated to the Christy Ring Cup in 2022.

Beaten 2021 Joe McDonagh Cup finalists, Kerry, have been drawn in Group B with Meath and 2020 Christy Ring Cup finalists, Down.

2020 Christy Ring Cup champions Kildare, are in Group A along with Carlow and Westmeath.

26th / 27th June - Kildare v Carlow; Kerry v Down.

3rd / 4th July - Carlow v Westmeath; Down v Meath.

10th / 11th July - Westmeath v Kildare; Meath v Kerry.

CHRISTY RING CUP

Two groups, one with three teams (Wicklow, Roscommon, and Derry) and one with two teams (Offaly and Sligo).

Group A will be played in Round Robin format and each team will have one home and one away game with the top two teams qualifying for the semi-finals and the third placed team playing in the quarter-final.

Offaly and Sligo will play one match in Group B with the winner playing in the semi-finals and the loser playing in the quarter-final.

The winner of the Christy Ring cup will be promoted to the Joe McDonagh Cup for 2022 while the loser of the quarter-final will be relegated to the Nickey Rackard Cup for 2022.

3rd / 4th July - Roscommon v Derry; Sligo v Offaly.

10th / 11th July - Derry v Wicklow.

NICKEY RACKARD CUP

Two groups, one with three teams (Donegal, Mayo, Leitrim) and one with two teams (Armagh, Tyrone) based on an open draw.

It will follow the exact same format as the Christy Ring Cup.

The winner of the Nickey Rackard Cup will be promoted to the Christy Ring Cup for 2022.

10th / 11th July - Leitrim v Donegal.

LORY MEAGHER CUP

Two groups, one with three teams (Longford, Louth, Monaghan) and one with two teams (Fermanagh, Cavan) based on an open draw.

It will follow the exact same format as the Christy Ring and Nickey Rackard Cups.

The winner of the Lory Meagher Cup will be promoted to the Nickey Rackard Cup for 2022.

10th / 11th July - Monaghan v Longford.
