Harsh red card for James Finnerty tonight at Tallaght

Finnerty red card has Bohs fuming

What did you make of the red card for James Finnerty this evening in the 'Dublin Derby' at Tallaght Stadium between Shamrock Rovers and Bohemians?

However, they were fortunate tonight to get a second-half penalty decision as Skryne man Finnerty was adjudged to have impeded Danny Mandroiu.

The referee pointed to the spot, it was harsh, but then he also produced a red card, that was also harsh.

The penalty was converted and with about 15 minutes remaining there was really no way back for Bohemians.

However, Bohs also squandered a number of chances, especially in the opening half, and that was also costly for them as hosts Shamrock Rovers won by 2-1.

In the other game this evening, St Pat's won 2-0 in Ballybofey against Finn Harps.

FIRST DIVISION

Dylan Hand was prominent in defence as Athlone Town defeated Wexford 3-0.

Jimmy Corcoran started again between the posts for Wexford, but he sustained a hand injury in the first-half and had to be replaced.

Shelbourne beat Cabinteely 3-1; Treaty Utd beat Cork City 2-1 and Galway and UCD finishd 2-2.
