Suicide-prevention charity Pieta House has now raised over €7 million so far in its Darkness Into Light walking appeal.
Thousands of people across Meath came out in the rain to mark the occasion and walk from darkness into the gloomy overcast dawn.
From Oldcastle to Ashbourne, Ballinabrackey to Bettystown, people rose from their beds to rememnber those we've loved and lost to the scourge of suicide.
More than 140,000 people across the world signed up to participate in today's Darkness Into Light event to raise funds for suicide prevention charity Pieta.
Darkness Into Light is Pieta's main fundraiser and money raised is used for intervention, counselling, and bereavement services.
Thanks to all who sent in their images from this morning. See this week's paper too for more snaps.
