Local bands support Aslan in Kells fundraiser

This Friday night will see Aslan team up with North East Against Incineration (NEAI) group for a fundraising gig in the Vibe niteclub at the Headfort Arms Hotel. Tickets are priced at €20 and are on sale in the Headfort Arms Hotel, Gamestop in Navan Town Centre and Nobber Pharmacy. "The NEAI are delighted to have secured such a high-profile band like Aslan to kick off their run of concerts. The band enjoys a loyal and passionate fanbase that other bands would kill for and are equally as comfortable playing to a few hundred loyal fans in a country bar as they are selling out The Point (now the O2). They have never forgot the support of their fans touring constantly up and down the country to perform their now legendary live set," said NEAI secretary John Keogan. Supporting Aslan will be Navan-based band The Myth made up of Kenny Gavin, lead singer and song writer, Ronan McCabe, lead guitar and backing vocals, David Gavin on base guitar and Joey Ryan on drums. The band plays all original material, mainly written by Kenny. Rock band Voodoo Jack is also supporting Aslan in the Vibe in Kells on Friday 28th August. The band comprises John Byrne from Nobber, on bass, Keenan Cassidy from Navan, originally Norfolk, Virginia, USA, on guitar, and Ciaran Daly from Kells, originally London, on drums. They will also play in The Stonehouse in Navan on Saturday 29th August at an event entitled 'Exposure 09' which will include many local bands. Tickets are €10 at this charity gig which is being run and completely organised by a David Daly, brother of Voodoo Jacks drummer, Ciaran. Voodoo Jack will also play in Pravda at the Ha'penny Bridge in Dublin on Thursday 17th September which has free entry, and doors open 8pm. They will also play in The Globe, Georges St, Dublin on Wednesday 23rd September which is free in, with doors open 8pm. The band have just completed an EP, 'The Temple Bar Sessions'.
