Gardaí investigate spate of burglaries in Kingscourt
Businesses on Kingscourt’s Main Street have been targeted by thieves three times in almost as many weeks, with cash taken and property damaged.
The most recent break-in occurred at a retail premises on Lower Main Street in Kingscourt in the early hours of last Sunday, August 8, at approximately 3am, when a sum of cash was taken.
The break-in happened just two days after a burglary at another retail premises, again on the town’s Main Street (August 6).
Entry was gained into the local store at approximately 1am where damage was caused to the property and, again, a sum of cash taken.
Meanwhile, detectives in Bailieborough continue to investigate a break-in at a retail premises on Main Street, Kingscourt that occurred between July 26-27, when a quantity of assorted mobile phones and two Samsung tablets were taken.
In November last year, a retail premises on the Dublin Road in Kingscourt was also broken into in the early hours. An undisclosed sum of cash was taken from the property during the incident.
Regarding the most recent cases, gardaí have confirmed that “no arrests” have been made to date, but state that investigations are “ongoing”.
