St Ultan’s Well annual visitation

St Ultan’s Historical Society will host the annual visitation to the Well this Saturday 21st August at 3pm.

The visitation has been held almost annually since the visitation was revived in 1920 and traditionally held on the first Sunday of September or the nearest Sunday to the saint’s holy day of September 4th. In times past the day included a festival of culture and sport and was in aid of St Ultan’s children’s hospital in Dublin.

On Saturday next patrons are advised to bring a fold-up chair and access is down the church road at Ardbraccan cross, duration of the proceedings will be approximately 30 minutes and those who attend will be given a memento of the visitation which they may keep or send to a friend or relative.
