Mullingar date for hurlers

Meath hurlers will have to travel to Mullingar for the NHL Div 3A final against Kildare. The final will be played at 3.00 on Saturday, 2nd May and will be the second game at the venue. The curtain-raiser will be the Div 4 final between Monaghan and Sligo. That might give Meath selectors an opportunity to assess the strengths of Sligo as they will be the opposition in the first round of the Nicky Rackard Cup. The Connacht side won the Rackard Cup last year when they beat Louth in the final, but they lost the subsequent play-off for a place in the Christy Ring Cup. Meath have already played Kildare twice this year, they lost to them in the Kehoe Cup and then beat them in the league.
