Meath GAA award winners announced
Meath GAA will host their annual sponsors and awards night in the Castle Arch Hotel Trim on Friday 1st April where accolades for 2020 and 2021 will be handed out after last year's event wasn't held because of Covid-19.
Donaghmore/ashbourne's Bryan Meade has been announced as the 2020 Footballer of the Year, while Cian ward's excellent 2021 season with Wolfe Tones will be rewarded with that year's Football of the Year prize.
2020 Leinster MFC winning captain Eoghan Frayne from Summerhill and the 2021 Leinster and All-Ireland MFC winning captain Liam Kelly from Ratoath will pick up the respective Young Footballer of the Year awards.
There will be three awards presented to Trim representatives on the night with Jubilee Cup winning captain Alan Douglas awarded the 2020 Hurler of the Year, James Murray picking up the 2021 Young Hurler of the Year and the Trim club winning the prestigious Club of the Year for 2021 following their remarkable season that saw them lift five trophies at adult level.
Kiltale's James Kelly will receive the 2021 Hurler of the Year, while Killyon's Justin Coyne will be honoured for his excellent 2020 campaign with the Young Hurler of the Year.
Ballinabrackey's annexing of the IFC in 2020 ensures they will pick up the 2020 Club of the Year.
The 2020 and 2021 Grounds of the Year will go to Drumconrath and Blackhall Gaels's Kilcloon facility respectively, while Ballinlough's Susan Farrell and Walterstown's Ruth Chambers spearheaded their club's Public Relations Club Award success.
Ballivor's Henri Clifford has been announced as the 2020 Referee of the Year, with Curraha's Patrick Coyle picking up the 2021 award.
The Most Improved Referee prizes will go to Na Fianna's Derek Ryan for 2021 and to Dunsany/Kilmessan's Ciaran Flynn for 2021.
