Celebration day for Castletown and Kilmainhamwood
There are sure be hearty celebrations in both Kilmainhamwood and Castletown tonight after both teams claimed the respective league titles at Pairc Tailteann today.
Kilmainhamwood's Paddy Carolan scored two goals as his side defeated Drumconrath in the A FL Div 4 final which served as a curtain-raiser today.
Killian Russell was also on the mark for the 'Wood while Stephen Crosby scored late consolation goal for the Drums.
In the Div 3A showdown Castletown proved too strong for Carnaross. Helped by Killian Price's goal after eight minutes Castletown led 1-7 to 0-3 after 16 minutes and 1-8 to 0-7 at the interval.
Castletown fashioned another goal early in the second-half with Declan Cribbin netting with the same player quickly tagging on two points. From then on it was Castletown's title to lose.
Frank O'Reilly was prominent for Carnaross scoring all his team's second-half points but they needed a lot more to derail their opponents.
It was also a memorable weekend for Kilmainham as they claimed the Div 2B crown by defeating Dunshaughlin yesterday.
