Major nursing home project underway in Dunshaughlin

Work is progressing on a new 96-bedroom nursing home on the Dublin Road in Dunshaughlin that is due to be completed at the end of next year.

The project is a new purpose-built stand-alone residential care home with 96 en-suite bedrooms, including 18 accessible bedrooms with shared dining and day rooms, café and bar area, kitchens, laundry, staff and support areas in a three-storey building arranged around a secure landscaped courtyard garden on a 0.88-hectare site.

Ground was broken on the development in April.

The project is being funded by Aedifica, who continue to expand its healthcare portfolio in Ireland. They have partnered with Grace Healthcare who will operate the nursing home, adding to their seven other existing nursing homes throughout Ireland.

The main contractor is Ganson. Brendan Merry & Partners are providing Project Management and Quantity Surveying Services and are working with RKD Architects and JV Tierney Services consultants on the project, which is due to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2023.
