Festive variety show in Athboy this Sunday

Athboy St Patrick’s Day Parade Committee is set to host variety show this Sunday, 4th December.

On Sunday at 3pm, St James’ Hall will be the hottest venue in town. For the past few weeks, the parade committee have been busy finalising the performing acts, drawing from the wealth of talent available across the community of Athboy and beyond.

The afternoon promises a mix of music, song, dance as well as a splash of comedy throughout, with acts including Matt Leavy, Brian Mullen, The Reel Deal Dance Academy, The Many Mores, Richie Hayes and some talented Macra veterans, such as Joe Healy, Martin McGovern, Veronica Donohue.

The committee are also delighted to welcome back to the stage, Cathy Anne Reidy, following her move back from Australia. Newcomer to town, Chris, who runs Athboy Guitar Tuition will also perform, as will dancers from ‘Chance to Shine drama and dance’ led by their teacher Nessa O’ Reilly. There will be some very young performers making their stage debut ably led by their drama teacher Celine Arkins, who runs Centre Stage Drama School. Also making their debut to the stage in Athboy are a number of very talented performers from Ukraine, now living in Athboy

Doors will open at 2.30pm. Admission will be €10 with concessions for children and OAPs. There will be a raffle, with proceeds for the running costs of the hall.
