Storm causes power outage in Dunboyne

Over 100 residents in Dunboyne remain without power this morning after strong winds caused damage to local lines.

The fault was reported yesterday evening shortly after 6pm and according to the ESB power check website, 133 customers remain affected this morning.

The estimated time for power to be restored to those customers is 5pm this evening.

While many more residents around Dunboyne were impacted yesterday evening, power was restored within hours to many homes.

Writing on Facebook yesterday evening, local councillor Maria Murphy said the outage was down to a line break at Loughsallagh due to storm damage and would take a while to fix. However, power was restored to parts of Dunboyne around 10pm last night.
