Gowran win for Lyons

Meath Chronicle horseracing columnist Ger Lyons was in the winners enclosure at Gowran Park on Tuesday night. The Kiltale-based trainer won the Inistioge Handicap with Nice Style which was partnered by promising apprentice Emmet McNamara. However, McNamara was hauled before the Stewards arising out of an incident at the start of another race where his mount, Turk, also trained by Lyons was involved in an incident with Metal Madness ridden by Danny Mullins. The Stewards were of the opinion that McNamara had ridden carelessly and suspended him for one raceday.
