Campaign to set up community allotments in Navan

A campaign to set up community allotments in Navan will be launched on Thursday night.

A public meeting will be held in the Brady Suite at Claremont Stadium at 7:30pm on Thursday (6th April) to start the process.

The Mayor of Navan, Cllr Eddie Fennessy, who is hosting the meeting, said, "The aim of this meeting is to bring like minded people together to form a committee that will drive a campaign to deliver a community allotment in Navan.

"A community allotment project would hugely benefit the people of Navan. A well managed facility could provide space for local disability service providers, schools, youth clubs, age friendly groups and people of all hues and persuasions to enjoy the open air and the value of not only developing the land, but growing their communities as well.

"We will need a strong committee in place to manage the facility and I'm asking anyone who's interested to join us in Claremont Stadium on Thursday," he said.
