Council welcome for Civil Defence Unit's Karen and Rossi
Meath Civil Defence volunteer and dog handler Karen Kelly and her victim recovery dog Rossi came in for special mention at a meeting of Meath County Council.
Ms Kelly, who is from Ratoath, and her dog was commended by her local councillor Gillian Toole for becoming the first human retrieval unit in the county.
On a separate note, the councillor also congratulated the council’s Irish language officer Noirin Murphy for a “fantastic” Seachtain na Gaeilge run throughout the county.
